MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The KwaNonqaba Police and local residents will on Thursday, 9 June hold a memorial service for Simone Potgieter at the Thusong Centre in Adriaans Road, Asla Park.
The service starts at 12:00.
Potgieter died in Durbanville on Monday 30 May. She was previously the vice chairperson of the KwaNonqaba Community Forum and was known for her compassion and care for the victims of crime, whom she also counselled at the Victim Empowerment Room of the KwaNonqaba Police Station.
The KwaNonqaba Police communications officer Sgt Kapp said the members at the station learnt with shock of the unexpected death of the 24-year old Potgieter who had made an indelible mark in the hearts and minds of all she encountered in the area.
Potgieter was also well known as an animal rights activist who worked tirelessly to better the living conditions of animals kept in captivity.
