MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - The joining of the Hartenbos River Estuary to the sea has been completed and water from the river is flowing into the sea.
This was confirmed by the Mossel Bay Municipality this afternoon, Wednesday 4 September.
The municipality will continue to monitor the oxygen and Ph levels of the water for the next few days.
Most of the dead fish on the banks of the river have been removed. Oxygen levels are still low and further, yet notably fewer, deaths may therefore still occur.
The possibility of an algae bloom is, among others, being investigated as a possible reason for the current problem.
