Jannie on TV again

MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - Mossel Bay's Jannie Ras was chosen for two major television commercials recently.

One, a South African Tourism commercial, was broadcast on the big screens at the Rugby World Cup stadia in France, before the South African matches, besides being broadcast on French television.

But Jannie and his family's section of the commercial was edited out and was not part of the final product.

Their section of the commercial was shot at Addo Elephant Park outside Gqeberha. Jannie, his wife Doretta, son Josh and daughter Nikita, were filmed enjoying a game drive at the elephant park.

Jannie said he was pleased to have been chosen for an international advert, even though the footage was not used. "It was a good experience and an achievement in itself. It was a fully paid-for trip and we stayed in accommodation in the park."

The second commercial is for ADCO, which is a chain of workshop franchises with professional technicians specialising in diesel fuel injection and related services.

In this commercial, shot in Wilderness, Jannie had to drive a bakkie.

This commercial is currently being broadcast frequently on SuperSport on DStv.

Jannie is signed with Gemini Model and Talent Agency in Mossel Bay. The owner of the agency, Frieda van der Walt, secured the roles for him.

Earlier this year Jannie had cameo roles on a few television soapies including Sewende Laan.
