MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A woman, reportedly the grandmother and the two preschool-aged children in her care were lucky to escape alive from a dwelling that had caught fire in the informal settlement of Endlovini earlier this morning, 9 September.
A firefighter had to save the children from the burning house. Both the firefighter and children suffered from smoke inhalation.
The children have been treated by ambulance staff and were handed to the care of their mother.
The fire has been extinguished and the firefighters are back at the fire station where the chief of Mossel Bay Municipality's Fire and Disaster Management Services, Joseph Johnson will debrief them later this morning.
Neighbours and onlookers said the cause of the fire is unknown. The family, however, has lost absolutely everything in the incident.
