MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Police are investigating the circumstances under which a firearm was allegedly stolen from a police vehicle in Mossel Bay.
Spokesperson Capt. Malcolm Pojie says they have opened a case of negligent loss of firearm, after the 9mm Vector Z88 pistol and fifteen rounds were taken from the vehicle in Kwanonqaba in Scholtz Street on Friday afternoon.
He says police have already instituted a disciplinary investigation into the loss of the firearm that will be conducted concurrently with the criminal investigation.
Pojie says the police officer opened a theft out of motor vehicle case for further investigation.
He appealed to anyone with information to contact the KwaNonqaba police station.
