MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A pilot and his wife did a precautionary landing at the Mossel Bay airstrip on Thursday, 1 February.
It appears they had electrical problems with their small fixed-wing aircraft while they were on their way to George Airport.
The couple said: "We did not expect the many emergency services [personnel] upon arrival, but are thankful for their support".
Town councillor Anton Dellemijn, also a member of the Mossel Bay Aeroclub, was on the scene and assisted both the pilot and his wife.
Dellemijn praised the emergency services for their swift and efficient response.
The man and his wife, who is also a pilot, own property in the area and were on a business trip when they experienced difficulties with their aircraft.
