MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Signs of a crude oil spill were noted on Thursday, 14 February at local beaches from Bikini Beach towards Hartenbos Beach in Mossel Bay.
According to an environmentalist they resembled bunker fuel that seemed to have been treated with a degreaser.
The oil was reported to SAMSA and TNPA.
The Stranded Marine Animal Rescue Team (S.M.A.R.T.) members maintained a lookout for any sea life that may have been affected since early on Friday morning, 15 February.
The community is asked to report any marine animals in distress to Carol Walton (082 364 3382) or S.M.A.R.T. (072 227 4715).
