MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Police Station staff and the station's community policing forum (CPF) leaders showed active care for the community and for visitors to town last week when they stopped people at the beach, spoke to them and handed out flyers containing crime prevention tips and emergency numbers.
One of the handouts contained 30 safety and security tips to help prevent one becoming a victim of crime, another contained tips to prevent theft out of motor vehicles, a third contained specific festive season safety tips and a fourth was a warning that being in possession of stolen goods is a criminal offence.
The community and holidaymakers are warned that they should reject stolen goods, not accept them as gifts, nor purchase them, and they should report stolen goods to the police.
The police officers and CPF leaders went to Santos, De Bakke and Point beaches.
