MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The KwaNonqaba Police urgently request the community to assist in the investigation of a business robbery and attempted vehicle hijacking which took place on Saturday, 28 September at the premises of Top Save Powertrade, on the corner of Mayixhale and Adriaans roads.
The incident took place at 06:25, when a driver delivering goods purchased in Port Elizabeth, arrived at the premises.
Six men bearing firearms apprehended the driver of the delivery vehicle and a security guard. According to the police, 9mm pistols were among the firearms used.
The suspects took an undisclosed amount of cash and also took a cellphone from one of the victims.
They then fled in the delivery vehicle, a panel van, which was found abandoned at the taxi rank in Asla Park, further down Adriaans Road.
Video material from closed circuit cameras at the business premises is currently being analysed by the police to obtain a description of the suspects.
It will be distributed in the media, in order to obtain information from the public.
A docket has been opened for the investigation of a business robbery and attempted vehicle hijacking.
