ELECTIONS NEWS AND VIDEO - A jovial mood prevails in the IEC results centre in Cape Town.
Scores of journalists are present, awaiting the final results from especially the Khayelitsha voting stations.
According to Brett Herron from the GOOD party, the vote totals from approximately 400 voting districts from Khayelitsha and a number of other towns in the Western Cape have not yet been made available.
These tallies may affect the final totals of all the political parties in the province. A jovial mood in the results centre has seen adversaries meet and greet.
The Premier candidate for the Western Cape, Alan Winde said with the majority of voting districts now counted, the DA remains optimistic that they will win the Western Cape.
"We look forward to the final results tomorrow."
For the casual observer, it would be hard to believe that a fierce battle was fought in the field.
The final press briefing will take place at approximately 12:00 on Friday where the final totals for the Western Cape are expected to be released.
