Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The 39-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of Heleen Annandale (62) is expected to appear in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court today, 22 September, for a formal bail application.
The accused, Sonwabile Mbambo, was arrested in KwaNonqaba less than 48 hours after Annandale’s body was found with a wound to the neck on Monday 1 September.
Mbambo is facing charges of murder and theft of a motor vehicle.
The police had to force open the door and discovered Annandale’s body. The medical personnel declared her dead on the scene.
Crime scene experts combed the flat for clues, while follow-up investigations led the police to Moonie Street in KwaNonqaba, where the victim’s vehicle was found abandoned.
Mossel Bay Advertiser will attend the court proceedings.
