Prequalification notice for enterprise contractor development

BUSINESS NEWS - Prequalification submissions are hereby invited from local contractors located within target areas 1 and 2 of the Mossel Bay municipality and the Eden District Municipality, as sub-contractors for contract no. C0964.02: upgrade of TR33/1 at Beach Boulevard West (KM10.27) to Garret street (KM13.05).

The proposed work packages are as follows;

Concrete block paving - package 1
Concrete block paving - package 2

An active CIDB contractor grading designation of CE3 to CE5 is a requirement for the subcontract work. Only contractors that are already prequalified in the database of the Louis Fourie project qualifies for tender.

Compulsory prequalification briefing meeting:
A compulsory information briefing meeting will be held at the Mossel Bay town hall offices at 101 Marsh street, Mossel Bay central, Mossel Bay, 6500 on 12 March 2024 at 11:00. Attendance at the compulsory briefing meeting will be limited to a maximum of one authorised representative per entity. Anyone who is 15 minutes late will not be allowed to attend.

Briefing meeting attendance process:
An attendance register will be completed by a Henra representative in the SMME unit, with the full details of the entity and its representative. At the venue, names will be called off before leaving the hall, and the attendees will only sign the attendance register when the briefing is completed.

Joint ventures are not allowed to prequalify and/or tender for packages in the category of CE3 to CE5 construction work. Confirmation of attendance at the briefing will be required to be made to Henra SMME unit, through e-mail to xolani@henra.co.za and must be done by no later than 12:00 noon on Monday, 10 March 2025. This will help to ascertain the number of prequalification documents to print for distribution.

Prequalification documents and attendance:
Only entities who confirmed their attendance of the compulsory briefing meeting will be issued with prequalification documents at the briefing meeting.Attendance at the meeting is mandatory, and representation must be by the prospective SMME or an authorized representative directly employed by the SMME.

The completed prequalification documents shall be sealed in an envelope or package clearly marked round 5 ECD prequalification, contract NO. C0964.02: upgrade of TR33/1 at Beach Boulevard West (KM10.27) to Garret street (KM13.05) and shall be delivered by hand into the tender box in the site offices of Enstha Henra at Entsha henra (Pty) LTD site office, Voorbaai business park, 10 Watson Avenue, Mossel Bay by no later than 12:00 noon on 26 March 2025. Telephonic, telegraphic, telex, facsimile, e-mailed or electronic submissions will not be accepted.

Preamble
This pre-qualification application document forms part of the procurement process of subcontractors for contract c0964.02: upgrade of TR33/1 at Beach Boulevard West (KM10.27) to Garret street (KM13.05). Successful sub-contractors will enter into an agreement/contract with the main contractor, Entsha Henra (Pty) ltd, who will be sub-letting part of the main contract to qualifying emerging contractors.
