When the premises became available shortly after the Covid pandemic, founder Charmain de Jager saw the potential to create something special.
Hartenbos Softserve & Slushies officially opened its doors on 1 August 2020, and since then the business has continued to grow from strength to strength.
The addition of Marina Janse van Rensburg in November 2020 and Rozelda Otto in November 2024 further strengthened the dedicated team behind the counter.
Despite operating from a compact 2.5m x 2.5m premises, Hartenbos Softserve & Slushies has earned a loyal following among locals and holidaymakers. Situated on the Hartenbos Seafront, it has become a must-visit stop for refreshing slushies, delicious soft-serve ice cream and friendly service.
The business attributes its success to three simple principles: exceptional service, quality products and affordability. These values continue to guide every customer interaction and have helped build lasting relationships with the community.
As they celebrate six years in business, the team remains deeply grateful for the support received from customers over the years and looks forward to welcoming many more visitors to experience what makes Hartenbos Softserve & Slushies such a beloved local favourite.
