My dog has his own Instagram account. Yes, #InstaKasper (see what I did there) is now ready to be followed.
A couple of years ago, we were still trying to figure out how to send an SMS and now even pets have social media accounts – and by the looks of things, are much more popular than their human counterparts.
And that gets me thinking. Years ago there was no such thing as Facebook or Instagram. Social media was for all intent and purpose, non-existent. We actually communicated with people by picking up a phone and talking to them – now we freak out slightly when our phone rings, it HAS to be urgent right? Or a telesales person… yes, they’re still around and they probably always will be.
A friend actually sent me a hand written letter the other day. It was nice. He went through the trouble to put pen to paper, fold the letter into an envelope, buy a stamp (these days it takes 3 stamps from Johannesburg to George) and go to the post office to actually post a letter. Special hey? I’m going to do that too… If I can remember my friends’ postal addresses instead of Outlook auto filling the 'To' section.
Anyway peeps… before I go off on a tangent, get your dog Instagram, let him follow Kasper while you write someone a letter using a pen and paper! Be the one who cares enough!
