MOSSEL BAY RUGBY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Municipal Rugby Team, an integrated team of players representing all the local rugby clubs, will play their first match in the new rugby league, the SWD Municipal Rugby Challenge tomorrow, Saturday 28 September, when they face the Oudtshoorn team.
On Friday night, 20 September, captain of the Mossel Bay team Shario Rosenkrantz proudly displayed the team's match apparel for the first time at a launch hosted by the SWD Rugby Union.
Mayor Harry Levendal is the patron of the Mossel Bay team.
Eight towns in the Garden Route area will compete to eventually be crowned the best municipal team. Mossel Bay will compete against the teams of George, Oudtshoorn and Hessequa.
The Mossel Bay versus Oudtshoorn match tomorrow will be played on the Brandwag field and starts at 15:00.
On 12 October Mossel Bay takes on Hessequa at the D'Almeida Stadium in Mossel Bay, and on 2 November George tackles the Mossel Bay team on the Greenhaven Grounds in Great Brak River.
The contesting teams display their match apparel at the SWD launch function in Wilderness on Friday, 20 September.
