This opened the floodgates of tries which found the home side leading 34-0 at half-time.
The second half saw the Marlins continue the dominant display of set pieces and scrums, ending the match with a 70-0 victory over the Pro Stars.
Bittersweet victory
JC Bernardo, captaining the team, has announced his retirement from rugby due to medical concerns.
Bernardo led the Marlins throughout the 2024 season and during this past weekend's season opener, scored an impressive four tries during the match against the Pro Stars, securing the title of Man of the Match.
Second team
The Marlins' second team secured a 17-12 win over the Pro Stars.
The home side's scrum dominance over the Pro Stars set the tone throughout the match and it delivered some hard-hitting rugby.
Both sides missed opportunities due to handling errors within five metres of the try line. The Marlins showed strong defensive play as the Pro Stars pushed the five-metre mark multiple times.
Strong winds hassled both sides during lineout throws and during conversion kicks, which saw both sides only converting one try each.
