MOSSEL BAY NEWS - History will be made when Mossel Bay hosts the DHL Lifesaving South Africa (LSA) Inter-Provincial Championships for the first time on Saturday, 1 March, at Santos Beach.
In a press release, LSA noted: "With its warm waters, pristine coastline and vibrant community, Mossel Bay provides the perfect backdrop for this prestigious event."
The competition starts at 08:00 on Saturday.
The championships will see the best lifesavers from each province go head to head in a thrilling test of skill, endurance and teamwork.
There are three age groups: Nippers (13-14 years), Juniors (15-19 years) and Open/Seniors (19+ years).
Each province will be represented by its elite athletes, making for an action-packed competition filled with speed, agility and precision, LSA noted.
The event is being hosted by Eden Lifesaving District, under the umbrella of Lifesaving Western Cape.
It is not too late for local businesses, organisations and individuals to get involved. Sponsorships and donations are welcome, to help ensure the success of this event.

Nipper boys: Kwezi Mini, Ziyane Windvogel and Warrick Numba.
Nipper girl: Jourdaine Moses.
Junior boys: Quewin Pieterse and Jonah Busch.
Open/Senior male: Rudi Boer.
