NETBALL NEWS - Sport plays an important role in the healthy development of the youth, not only in terms of their physical wellbeing, but in building wholesome relationships for their emotional health.

Stanford Mbandezi, a local municipal councillor, has sponsored kit for netball teams in Zone 7, KwaNonqaba.

The teams consist of young ladies from 13 to 23 years of age. The netball club was founded by a student at the South Cape College, residing in Zone 7.

"The 23-year-old Anazo Bunyonyo is originally from the Eastern Cape and currently studying in Mossel Bay. She, despite her own trying circumstances of living in a room in an informal settlement, founded the club and coaches the teams.

"I encourage members of the community to reach out to the youth and to support them by making donations, based on the needs identified," said Mbandezi. The needs include more balls, kit, as well as poles and netball hoops.
