MOSSEL BAY NEWS - At long last Mossel Bay now boasts a men's hockey team.
This is thanks to the efforts of a few avid sportsmen who simply, having identified the need for competitive play, came together for the love of the game. The team, open to all players from 16 years and older, can join in weekly practice sessions to hone their skills as they have already entered the Eden Hockey men's league.
From the start of the second term practice will start in earnest. Practice days and times are to be confirmed soon.
Local businessman Albert Wiffen, a keen hockey player, provided much-needed sponsorship from the start by supplying the necessary kit.
"This is an effort for the town, therefore we welcome all players who want to get active and play competitively," says Riaan Stroebel, one of the founders.
Any players interested in joining or businesses that wish to get on board in terms of sponsoring affiliation fees or players can contact Stroebel (079 703 5844).
