MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Two of Mossel Bay's promising boxers have been selected for the Western Cape team taking part in the South African National Boxing Organisation tournament from 12 to 17 December in Pretoria.
Kamvalethu Ranyana and Masixole Ntunga are both learners at Indwe Secondary School.
They must win all three of their required fights to qualify for inclusion in the national team.
It is not the first time Ranyana has been chosen for the Western Cape team, so he knows what to expect.
At age 12, he competed for the Western Cape in the ring in Gauteng.
He also achieved a second place when competing in the Eastern Cape against boxers from all nine provinces.
According to their coach, the boxers' biggest challenge while preparing for their fights, is following the correct diet to enhance their performance in the ring.
"We also need equipment, which includes protective wear, bandages and so forth," says their coach, Masimphiwe Qatu.
Anyone who would like to support these boxers, can call 064 099 1955 or send an email to masimphiwe@gmail.com.
Financial donations can be paid into Eden Open Boxing, Nedbank, account number 112 912 6048, branch code 198465.
