MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A good field enjoyed some fresh winds (what’s new?) in our monthly medal competition, which has been sponsored by Superspar Mossel Bay, for a good number of years.
Always a keenly contested competition amongst the ladies, medal remains the truest test of one’s golfing prowess with perhaps just an iota of luck thrown in.
I think I was the recipient of the latter, on the eighth when I hit my 7 iron a little thin, it skedaddled up to the middle of the green and I proceeded to sink a longish put for the only two club of the day. As the saying goes, in this game take all the luck on offer.
Silver division: 1. Gloria Greyvenstein (net 68) pipped Gail Botha (net 69).
Bronze division:1. Annette Meyer (net 78) counted out Tertia Mitchell (net 78).
Copper division: 1. Hettie Bruwer (net 75), Rosie Gerber (net 77).
IPS players: 1. Magda Kaltenbrunn (29 points), Liesbeth van Biene (24 points).
Least putts recorded (28), nearest the pin and lucky 2 club, Gloria.
Much appreciation from all the women golfers to Mossel Bay’s Superspar for their generous sponsorship.
Some of the happy winners, Gail, Tertia Liesbeth, Hettie, Gloria and Magda.
