MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Excitement, relief and heartbreak rippled through the Mossel Bay area today as the matriculants received their National Senior Certificate results, bringing an emotional close to their school careers.
Mossel Bay Advertiser visited all the high schools in the area and witnessed that for many of them, the day was filled with celebration, hugs shared with parents, messages exchanged with friends and a deep sense of pride after years of dedication.
Others, however, faced disappointment as their results fell short of expectations.
Curro Mossel Bay emerged as the only school in the area to achieve a 100% pass rate.
The other schools’ results:
• Point High School: 99.22%
• Groot Brak Sekondêr: 97.6%
• Hillcrest Secondary School: 92.2%
• Sao Bras Secondary School: 92.6%
• Indwe Secondary School: 85.7%
• Garden Route High School: 62%.
Education officials and school leaders have congratulated those learners who passed, while urging those who did not to remember that matric is not the final measure of success.
Opportunities such as supplementary exams, rewrites and vocational pathways remain available.
