SACP ready to present evidence against Guptas

NATIONAL NEWS - The South African Communist Party (SACP)’s second Deputy General Secretary Solly Mapaila says he's ready to present evidence of the Gupta family’s alleged influence over ministerial appointments and government business to African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Gwede Mantashe.

The governing party has announced the establishment of an investigation into claims that the Gupta family is controlling Cabinet appointments.

The party has called on any of its members working within the state who have been approached by the Guptas to come forward.

ANC leaders who are already expected to meet with Mantashe’s office include Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas, former Member of Parliament Vytjie Mentor and former head of government communications Themba Maseko.
