HERBERTSDALE NEWS - A couple from the Spanish island, Majorca, had their holiday plans scuppered when they were involved in a head-on collision that resulted in both of them being admitted to Life Bay View Hospital.
Hospital spokesperson Elzaan Moelich said both were initially treated in the hospital's intensive care unit, although the male patient was later moved to a general ward.
KwaNonqaba police spokesperson Sgt Kapp said the head-on collision between the vehicles used by the tourists, Mr and Mrs Antonio, and a Herbertsdale resident happened at about 16:50 on 1 February about one kilometre from Herbertsdale on the R327 in the direction of Mossel Bay.
The driver of the other vehicle and her young son also suffered injuries.
The KwaNonqaba police have opened a case of reckless and negligent driving. Anyone with information on the accident is requested to contact the KwaNonqaba police (044 606 5600).
