Die skolenuus sluit gereeld ’n vraag van die week met ’n spesifieke skool in. En dan is daar natuurlik ook brokkies oor die skole se kultuur-, akademie- en sportsterre.
This week, Mossel Bay Advertiser featured the winners of the Mr and Miss Sao Bras pageant, Vorentoe Primary School's recently elected head leaders and a short column on one learner's experience with chess. Milkwood Primary's grade 4 learners had an exciting and educational trip to the Bartolomeu Dias Museum, while Hillcrest Secondary took a trip around the world.
Hierdie week het Mossel Bay Advertiser die wenners van die Mnr. en Mej. Sao Bras-kompetisie, Laerskool Vorentoe se onlangs verkose hoofleiers en 'n kort rubriek oor een leerder se ervaring met skaak gepubliseer. Milkwood Primêr se graad 4-leerders het 'n opwindende en opvoedkundige uitstappie na die Bartolomeu Dias Museum gehad, terwyl Hillcrest Sekondêr 'n reis om die wêreld onderneem het.
Mr and Miss Sao Bras 2026
Mossel Bay's Sao Bras High School hosted a Mr and Miss Sao Bras pageant in its hall on Thursday 12 March. The event was organised by a teacher, Juan Fortuin, and was supported by the members of the Mossel Bay community, the parents and friends.
Bokamoso Nyedimane took home the title of Miss Sao Bras, while Mr Sao Bras was awarded to Ricardo Mouers.

Hillcrest Secondary’s U18 netball team played three matches at Sao Bras High School’s Sport Day on Saturday 14 March, securing one win, one loss and one draw. The team played their first match against Bridgton Secondary School in Oudtshoorn and won 16-4. Hillcrest Secondary School held a Trip Around the World evening for its learners on its schoolgrounds on 6 March. The learners were able to experience a variety of cultures from around the globe and sample their traditional foods during the evening.

Milkwood Primary School
The Grade Four learners of Milkwood Primary School were recently treated to an outing to the Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex.

Diaz Primary School
Hierdie week het Diaz-leerder, Rumecha du Preez, 'n opinie-artikel geskryf oor hoekom sy skaak so kalmerend vind.
Skaak laat my rustig voel - Die dag toe ek in gr. 6 kom was ek opgewonde om 'n tiener te wees. Ek het altyd gedink as ek 'n tiener is, sal ek baie nuwe dinge kan doen.
Maar ek het nooit geweet as ek in gr. 7 kom, ek minder tyd vir ander dinge sou hê nie. Ek het baie meer huiswerk gekry en moes projekte na skool doen, en as ek dink ek gaan rus op 'n Vrydagmiddag, doen ek wéér huiswerk.
Maar daar was nog altyd iets wat my gerusstel wat ek as 'n stokperdjie doen, en dit is skaak.
Skaak het my nog altyd rustigheid en kalmte gegee. Dit het my geleer dat hierdie twee dinge goeie medisyne vir enigeen se gemoedsrus is.
