MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay branch of the South African Council of Businesswomen (SACBW) was crowned the branch of the year at the SACBW’s 2025 Gala and Awards Ceremony in Mbombela (previously Nelspruit) on Saturday 18 October.
The national theme for this year’s awards was ‘She Rise’, celebrating the resilience and determination of the businesswomen honoured.
“We are deeply grateful to our Nelspruit sisterhood for hosting us with genuine Lowveld hospitality, reflecting the warmth and spirit of Mpumalanga - the Place Where the Sun Rises. This celebration is a beautiful tribute to the strength and unity of our sisterhood, shining brightly despite the obstacles we had prior to the event,” said the Mossel Bay branch.
Challenges such as delayed and/or cancelled flights as well as thunderstorms arose before the ceremony, but did not dampen the ladies’ spirits.
Mossel Bay’s Esmé Alberts was also crowned first runner-up in the national businesswoman of the year category.
Alberts was previously announced as Mossel Bay’s businesswoman of the year in September.
The Mossel Bay branch will also be hosting the SACBW AGM and gala in 2026, led by chairperson Nadine van der Merwe.
