MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), Mossel Bay Municipality representatives, the local community of KwaNonqaba and various partners commemorated Global Handwashing Day at the Asla Park Community Hall today, 13 October.
15 October is the official Global Handwashing Day. It is an advocacy initiative worldwide, dedicated to increasing awareness of the importance of hand hygiene and promoting lasting, positive change from policy level to community-driven action.
The visit consisted of three parts to educate the community:
- How to wash hands.
- Saving water.
- Anti-vandalism of infrastructure.
A house-to-house visit educated the community and pamphlets were handed out, while a team of plumbers was available to fix minor water and sewer problems.
