MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Following his arrest on Friday 14 August, a 59-year-old man recently appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court on charges of sexual assault against his former stepson (35), and was released on bail of R1 000.
The accused, whose identity cannot be revealed due to the nature of the allegations against him, was arrested after his former stepson - who also cannot be named - had opened a case against him, claiming sexual abuse when he was six up until he was 12, between 1997 and 2003.
The Mossel Bay Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit is currently investigating the case.
The accused will appear in court again on 16 September.
