Update
GREAT BRAK RIVER NEWS - A second man (33) was confirmed to have died after a Chevrolet bakkie hit him and another pedestrian (21) at Rheeboksfontein near Great Brak River in the early hours of Sunday 5 July.
The Southern Cape Police's spokesperson, Warrant Officer Chris Spies, had previously Mossel Bay Advertiser that the incident had occurred at about 02:00.
The officers arrived to find the first pedestrian, the 21-year-old, who had sustained multiple injuries. He was declared dead on the scene.
It has since been reported to the Advertiser that a second pedestrian had been injured in the same incident. This person had been rushed to the George Hospital and died late last week.
A case of culpable homicide is being investigated. No arrests have yet been made.
