Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - A 16-year-old learner, arrested in connection with the murder of fellow learner Khanya Mafuta, will not return to Hillcrest Secondary School because of safety reasons.
The teenager was arrested shortly after Khanya was stabbed in the chest at a house party in KwaNonqaba on Sunday, 2 October.
The suspect cannot be named as he is a minor.
He spent a few days in custody while waiting for his bail application. The formal bail application took place on Monday, 10 October, at the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court. He was released into the care of his guardians and was warned to appear in court on 3 November, when he faces a charge of murder.
According to school principal, Ivan Kroneberg, the suspect is doing his schoolwork from home.
