Astronomy group invites newcomers

All interested in astronomy to join the pilot committee at the first meeting of the association at the Eden Country Inn in Klein Brak River on Thursday, 10 August.

MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Astronomy Association of South Africa (MBASSA) invites all interested parties to join the pilot committee at the first meeting of the association at the Eden Country Inn in Klein Brak River on Thursday, 10 August, at 19:00 during which the draft constitution, which is based on the constitution of the mother body, the Astronomy Society of South Africa, will be discussed.

The aims of the local association will also be touched on including the aim of increasing the interest of the local community in astronomy and the support of any learners interested in pursuing astro-physics and or astronomy as well as astro-photography.

A small group of past members of the now-dissolved BRAC (Brak River Astronomy Club) have taken it upon themselves to further the exposure of members of the local public to stargaze and become more familiar with the fascinating science of astronomy.

A donation of R20 per person would be welcomed to cover costs.

Everyone is welcome. Contact Johan Uys (076 644 2869) for more information.
