MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Two people, aged 18 years and 20 years, were arrested by Mossel Bay Law Enforcement officers on Wednesday for allegedly illegally removing paving bricks from the newly-laid road at the new cemetery site in town.
The suspects claimed they were instructed by a third person to remove the pieces of paving.
The two perpetrators were taken to the Mossel Bay Police Station, where they were also charged with theft of municipal property and damage to municipal property.
"I congratulate law enforcement officers Buis and Frans for being so alert and for successfully making the arrest," municipal spokesperson Colin Puren said.
He urged the community to be vigilant and to report any vandalism or willful damage to municipal property.
