MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Life Bay View Private Hospital has commenced with administering vaccines to members of the public, who have registered on the government EVDS and have been allocated to this vaccination site for their vaccination appointment.
This is in support of South Africa’s second phase of the national vaccination programme.
“People should register on the EVDS and will receive an SMS notification providing the date and vaccination site that they should visit,” explains Lida Swart, Hospital Manager at Life Bay View Private Hospital.
Life Bay View Private Hospital’s vaccination site is able to assist a number of walk-in persons who are not allocated to the vaccination site via the EVDS, when individuals with scheduled appointments have been attended to.
Additionally, this will only be possible within the limitation of the number of vaccines and personnel available at the vaccination site on any day.
The vaccination site is a service provided on behalf of the government and the hospital may be obliged to pause the vaccination programme at any point should the anticipated supply of vaccines not materialise or be delivered by the government’s vaccine suppliers.
The vaccination site is open from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00 and is not open on public holidays.
What to take with you to the Life Bay View Private Hospital vaccination site:

“We are doing our best to provide an efficient and safe vaccination process and thank the local community for their patience and support in our efforts. The impact of the third wave of infection rates in the local community will determine the hospital’s capacity to manage the number of vaccinations that can be administered.
"The situation is fluid and hospital management works closely with our Doctor COVID-19 Committee to consider and plan for any circumstances. We are grateful to have located a vaccination venue off site of the hospital so that we can continue to provide these vaccinations for as long as possible,” concluded Swart.
