BUSINESS NEWS - There is a new person at the helm of Life Bay View Private Hospital in Mossel Bay.
New hospital manager Nevil Vlok replaces Lida Swart, who retired after an impressive 26 years' service to the hospital.
Vlok has been in the position of hospital manager for a month now.
Swart served 15 of her 26 years at the hospital as hospital manager.
A spokesperson for Life Bay View said: "It was an honour to work under Lida's leadership of commitment to the success of the hospital and its employees. All the awards the hospital received are a testimony to Lida's dedication and hard work. We wish Lida and her husband, Simon, all the best for this new, exciting chapter in their lives."
Welcome
The spokesperson continued: "It is our pleasure to welcome Nevil as the hospital manager. Nevil is a pharmacist and holds an MSc (pharmaceutical chemistry) cum laude from North West University and a Senior Management Diploma/Degree through GIBS."
Nevil has more than nine years' experience as a hospital manager.
Before his move to Mossel Bay he was the hospital manager at Life Knysna Private Hospital for six years, and prior to this he held the same position at Life Piet Retief.
Nevil has been with Life Healthcare since 2007, in various roles within the Pharmacy Division and Life Occupational Health.
Nevil says: "I plan to build on Life Bay View's reputation for quality care and good doctors." He will bring more specialists to the hospital and increase Life Bay View's capacity.
"I want to make Life Bay View the premier hospital of the Southern Cape," he noted. Currently the hospital has the only cardiology department in the Southern Cape.
The hospital plans an expansion project, to start at the end of this year. It is aimed that the project will be completed by the end of next year.
