MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Local bird specialist and breeder Mr Danie Barnard of Dana Bay this past weekend scooped many of the most coveted awards at the National Cage Bird Association Championships, held in Cape Town.

An enthusiastic birder since 1985, Mr Barnard's canaries competed against 76 other exhibitors, and 1 315 birds.

With the expert help of his aviary manager, Siyabulela Peter, several prizes found a welcome home in Dana Bay, no least for the Best Border Open, Best Lizard, Best Open Lizard, as well as several other placed winnings.
