Advocate Louise Buikman will remain on as the 16-year-old's curator until she reaches the age of majority.
Buikman says an agreement has been reached with van Breda's family members.
The agreement states the 16-year-old will be kept in the care of an aunt and uncle in the Western Cape.
The teenager has reportedly been living with family friends until now.
