NATIONAL NEWS - Members of Parliament (MPs) have agreed to publish the names and CVs of shortlisted candidates to serve on the SABC board for public comment.
Lawmakers arrived at the decision on Tuesday while hashing out a framework for choosing the 12 people who will eventually serve on the public broadcaster’s board.
President Jacob Zuma confirmed the appointment of an interim board in March this year to stabilise the cash-strapped broadcaster which had lurched from crisis after crisis. That board’s six-month term ends next month.
Parliament’s Communications Portfolio Committee has received 363 resumes.
