Firefighters yesterday battled a bush fire near Melkbosstrand.
A small vegetation fire also broke out along Keizersgracht in Cape Town but it was extinguished within a few hours.
Fire and Rescue Services Theo Layne, said a busy few weeks lie ahead.
“We’re expecting to deal with more vegetation fires. We’re appealing to members of the public to be extra cautious during this time to ensure that any fires that they do see get reported immediately and not to make any fires where they aren’t supposed to.”
