MOSSEL BAY NEWS - After the wildfire at Ruitersbos was extinguished a week ago, a flare-up occurred on the north-eastern flank, west of the Moordkuils River today, 4 October.
The Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM) posted on its Facebook that no infrastructure is currently at risk and that a helicopter has been deployed to contain the affected area as the terrain remains inaccessible to ground crews.
It said the main priority is to prevent the fire from spreading toward the Friemersheim Pine Grove plantation and that the south-eastern section is the primary focus area.
