MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Veteran actress Vicky Kente will be in Mossel Bay in September to give workshops for budding actors.
Vicky is well-known for her roles in the television shows, Getroud met Rugby and The Queen, but she has also been in a string of films including Winnie Mandela (2011), in which she plays Stompie Sepei's mother.
Vicky has a rich acting heritage. Her uncle, now deceased, was the well-known Gibson Kente, also know as "Bra Gib".
Coach
Aged 59, Vicky is a highly experienced actor and acting coach in her own right, with decades of acting behind her.
She spent many years coaching children in drama, singing and dancing.
Gibson was a celebrated playwright, composer, director and producer and is widely recognised as the man who pioneered township theatre.
Musicals
He wrote all the songs featured in his musicals.
Some of his well-known musicals are: Mama and the load, Sekunjalo and The Call.
Vicky's workshops in Mossel Bay take place on 7 September.
Theme
The theme of the workshops is My Performance on Set and they will cover on-set etiquette and offer voice and movement training.
There is a workshop for beginners from 09:00 to 11:00 and one for more advanced actors from 12:00 to 14:00.
