MOSSEL BAY NEWS - John André Dalton's (29) family said he, who was known to be kind-hearted and caring to everyone he met, would be sorely missed.
Dalton, who lived in the Vogelsang Landgoed area in Voorbaai, had been missing since 29 May. His body was found last Wednesday, 23 July.
The family told Mossel Bay Advertiser: "He was known for his warm smile and friendly nature. John brought comfort and joy to those around him. He had a special way of making people feel welcome, whether dropping by for a coffee and a chat or offering a listening ear.
"His presence will be deeply missed and his memory forever cherished by all who knew and loved him."
The family has also thanked the Da Ga-maskop Police Station, Detective Warrant Officer Arlene Stokes, the people who had helped search for Dalton in the days and weeks after he had gone missing, and everyone who had offered support and assistance to the family.
"Your efforts and compassion are sincerely appreciated," they said.
The Southern Cape Police's spokesperson, Sergeant Chris Spies, said an inquest docket was opened after Dalton's body was found, and that no foul play was suspected.
