MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Advertiser received queries about the Orca drill rig in the bay.
Members of the public asked why the lights were off and whether the rig was manned.
The new owner, who bought the rig from PetroSA, said: "The rig is not unattended and the lights have never been off."
He said new, high-tech solar navigation lights had been fitted and the Orca was manned currently.
But when it was towed, it would be an unmanned class-approved tow, as was usual practice.
