The QuizTrail concept, a new walking trail App for iPhones, was launched earlier in 2014 in London by TV historian Dan Snow.

"News of this trail is particularly pleasing for me as, although I now live in England, I grew up in Mossel Bay and it’s great to see the first QuizTrail in my old home town," says Tom Merchant, founder of QuizTrail.

Using the latest geo-location technology, QuizTrail provides an opportunity to explore new places or re-discover familiar haunts, using your smartphone. Questions related to your surroundings pop up as you follow the trail, whilst the on-screen map guides you along the route. It’s free to download and great to share with friends.

The Mossel Bay trail was created by Go Southern Africa and is free to download, so readers can experience this new App without it costing them a cent.

The trail starts at The Point and players explore the town by answering trivia questions that unlock the next leg of the route. Points are awarded for correct answers and players can see how their score compares with their friends on the Leaderboard on the App.
