Lensing dug the holes for the trees. The first stop to plant trees was at the Zettie Jonker Hulp Sentrum, an educational centre for people with special needs.
Next was Bartelsfontein Farm, where the Garden Route 4x4 Expo is held regularly.
Miss Earth South Africa is a programme that aims to empower young South African women with the knowledge and platform to create a sustainable difference in combatting the destruction of our natural heritage.
Fourie said she focuses on the Garden Route area and specifically children and businesses, encouraging people to life a sustainable lifestyle. She urges people to do small things around the house, at school and at work, to make a difference in preserving the environment.
"I focus on planting trees and setting up vegetable gardens at schools and clinics for the provision of healthy food at a low cost." She also encourages recycling.
