MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Members of the public should be aware that the matric afterparties, as part of Matriekbaai, are taking place at Bakgat in Industry Road and Blasters in Mascador Road in Voorbaai, Mossel Bay, tonight.
There is likely to be more traffic than usual in these areas which flank Louis Fourie Road.
When the entertainment at Dias Beach ends at 10pm, the afterparties start at these two venues. There is also an afterparty at De Dekkie restaurant in Great Brak tonight. Fourie says the main afterparty venues for Matriekbaai attendees are Blasters, Bakgat and De Dekke.

Matriekbaai organiser Lian Fourie says there is a strong focus on safety and security. The Mossel Bay Advertiser noted that at Dias Beach last night and today, there was a strong security presence, with private security and police vehicles present.
Fourie explains that he is collaborating closely with the municipality, police and neighbourhood watches to ensure as safe an event as possible. He also says that the Matriekbaai will be progressional.
Because some matrics are still writing exams early next week, more Matriekbaai attendees are expected to arrive in town after these exams.
