MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Indwe Secondary School Choir travelled to Johannesburg for the National Eisteddfod on Tuesday 1 July.
The choir will be representing the Western Cape. They took the stage yesterday, 3 July, and return to Mossel Bay tomorrow, 5 July.
Getting to the National Eisteddfod was no easy feat; the choir participated at district level in Riversdale in May, winning first and third position for the African song and Western song categories, respectively.
Next, they proceeded to the provincial music competition in Cape Town on 8 June, where they took home first position in African song once again, and qualified for the national competition.
This is not the first time Indwe Secondary's choir has represented the Western Cape at the National Eisteddfod. The school previously won in 2018.
The parents and learners gathered on the schoolgrounds before the choir's departure to see them off. The parents had worked together to make snack packs for the learners' trip, consisting of a packet of chips, some fruit and a cooldrink each.
