MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Members of the community widely distributed a WhatsApp voice note regarding a staffer at Food Lover’s Market, Mosselbaai Mall that has contracted the Covid-19 virus.
Food Lover’s Market today, 6 June issued the following statement in response.
A team member, who works in the butchery department at Food Lover’s Market Mossel Bay, was screened as part of our daily wellness checks and was consequently referred to be tested on 25 May – 12 days ago. We were informally advised that she has tested positive for COVID-19 on 03 June.
Although we have not received a certification from a medical authority, we decided to activate the protocols we have in place in the event of a positive test result.
All team members that had direct contact with the team member have been instructed to self-quarantine for the remaining period of the 14-days since the last contact with their colleague and are being monitored for any symptoms of COVID-19.
Since our affected colleague was in-store last, the store has been deep cleaned and sanitised by a professional cleaning company twice – on 25 May and 3 June respectively. We have adopted this proactive approach to protecting our team and customers.
We will continue our practice of screening our colleagues on arrival at work daily and during the day. We wish our affected colleague well and look forward to her returning to work, along with the rest of our team.
Food Lover’s Market Mossel Bay is open and practising all COVID-19 hygiene procedures – including social distancing, wearing masks and sanitising.
