MOSSEL BAY NEWS & VIDEO - There was substantial rainfall in the Mossel Bay area last weekend and an impressive thunderstorm on Sunday.
On Tuesday, 7 March, there were lighter showers in the afternoon and overnight in the region.
The municipality stated that no notable damage to infrastructure had been reported following the heavy downpours at the weekend.
It was reported on Monday, 6 March, that rubbish collection in Jonkersberg, north of Great Brak, had been delayed due to the access road being under water.
Municipal teams had been placed on alert following the weather warning and all minor eventualities were dealt with efficiently, the municipality said.
During the weekend sand washed on to the N2 highway between Little Brak and Great Brak, in the direction of Mossel Bay. This happened before, during heavy rains about a month ago. Part of the road had to be closed while the sand was removed.
