According to a statement issued by the GRDM communications team this morning, fire crews worked through the night to suppress all accessible hotspots in the affected areas.
While the situation is currently stable, patrol and verification operations will continue throughout the morning and into the afternoon to ensure that no flare-ups occur along the outer perimeter.
A team from the GRDM Fire & Rescue Services remains on site to monitor conditions and carry out mop-up operations.
Residents and road users are urged to remain vigilant. Anyone who spots smoke, a veld fire, or a wildfire, should report it immediately to the GRDM Emergency Call Centre on 044 805 5071, or via WhatsApp on 081 709 5193.
The GRDM extended its appreciation to all fire personnel and support teams for their continued dedication in managing wildfire risks across the district.
