MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Eden Photographic Society celebrated its 21st anniversary recently. This event was made memorable by the introduction of a new logo for the society.
It was presented on a banner, which will be displayed at all future society meetings in the Diaz Hotel, Mossel Bay, and at all other social events.
The big reveal of the new logo and banner took place on 11 February in the Diaz Hotel.
The unveiling of the banner was done by honorary guests Evelyn Gibson, the Photographic Society of South Africa (PSSA) director and public relations officer and marketer. and Paul Rixom, PSSA Garden Route regional director.
Evelyn and Paul also acted as photograph judges and commentators at the event.
The logo design was a team effort by the society's committee and after a few weeks, the final product came to fruition.
Winners of the Eden Photographic Society were previously announced in December 2024, at a year end function.
The 2024 winners are as follows:
1. Photographer of the year (senior) - Gerda Fouche.
2. Photographer of the year (junior) - Marianna Erasmus.
3. Photograph of the Year (senior) - Playful Pied Kingfisher by Gerda Fouche.
4. Photograph of the Year (junior) - Dubai at night by Job Ubbink.
5. Photographer of the year - PSSA Salons - Elaine van der Toorn.
A special competition was held at the end of 2024 to honour the partners, husbands and wives of club members. The winner of this competition was Cheers by Yolandi Wessels.
